Genus Atadenovirus
Genus Siadenovirus
Genus Ichtadenovirus
Detailed description
of the updated official taxonomy. For summary, see a short list.
New proposals (August 19, 2011)
1. Create species Bat adenovirus B and Murine adenovirus B in genus Mastadenovirus
2. Create species Turkey adenovirus B in genus Aviadenovirus

Proposals accepted by the Executive Committee of ICTV but still lacking final electronic vote
1. Create species named Bat adenovirus A in genus Mastadenovirus
2. Rename 5 species in the family Adenoviridae by adding letter designation
(Possum adenovirus A, Goose adenovirus A, Canine adenovirus A, Tree shree adenovirus A,
Frog adenovirus A)

HISTORY
In August 2009, after an electronic voting, ICTV accepted the fifth adenovirus genus (Ichtadenovirus with one species: Sturgeon adenovirus A), and four new adenovirus species: Falcon adenovirus A (genus Aviadenovirus), Human adenovirus G and Murine adenovirus C (Mastadenovirus), and Raptor adenovirus A (Siadenovirus).
In 2008, ICTV accepted the proposals for creating two new species, Snake adenovirus A (for snake adenovirus type 1) and Simian adenovirus A (for simian adenovirus 3).

THEV
have been moved
from the genera Mastadenovirus
and Aviadenovirus,
respectively, to the group of "Unassigned Viruses in the Family".
Twenty species
(as a new taxon in Adenoviridae)
have been established for the accepted serotypes of mastadenoviruses, and six
species for the accepted aviadenovirus types.
