The proposals sent for the ICTV

 

Proposal 1. To remove bovine adenovirus types 4 to 8 (the so-called subgroup 2 BAVs) from the genus Mastadenovirus.

Proposal 2. To remove egg drop syndrome virus (EDS or duck adenovirus type 1) from the genus Aviadenovirus.

Proposal 3. To create a new genus within the family Adenoviridae to contain OAV287, bovine adenovirus types 4 to 8 and the EDS virus.

Proposal 4. To name the new genus Atadenovirus.

Proposal 5. To designate ovine adenovirus isolate 287 (serologically related to bovine adenovirus type 7) as the type species of the genus created in 3.
